Captain Ruby Gold founded the Red Tide with her lover Onyx Gold after raiding and seizing a man-o’-war, an armed naval vessel in the British Royal Navy. As they sailed away with the surviving men, the sea glowed like fire in the distance and the man-o’-war was declared the Red Tide. They scoured the shores far and wide for a mercenary crew, the most skilled and notaries’ fighters from every corner of the land. As their victories were many, their crew took on names to represent the fortunes they acquired. Song writers and poets tell their tales of brutality and success in every port, providence and kingdom.
